The study was conducted using telephone interviews with owners and managers of enterprises representing micro, small and medium businesses. A total of 631 enterprises were surveyed, representative of a total of more than 1.7 million active business entities in Ukraine. More than 50% of the surveyed enterprises are located in frontline regions, which made it possible to compare the current business needs in different regions.
The survey results show that Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022 had a significant negative impact on regional Ukrainian businesses. Companies in active combat zones suffered the greatest impact. Only 14.1% of respondents indicated that their businesses did not experience significant changes. A clear connection was found between the number of affected enterprises and the intensity of hostilities: regions near the frontline suffered the greatest losses.
