Analysts at Pro-Consulting prepared a market research of PET containers in Ukraine

One of PET containers major advantages - the simplicity of line mount for the manufacture of PET containers directly to your business, which significantly reduces the cost of packaging and therefore attract producers of beer and beverages.

In recent years, Ukraine traced the positive dynamics of growth of PET containers market capacity. 2009 scored the least amount of production of the product. In real terms the figures were 3 billion pieces with a capacity of 2.89 billion pieces. In 2010, the growth rate of the market capacity of thermoplastic containers was 2.1%. In 2011-2012, there was a dramatic increase in production volumes. Therefore, in 2011, there were 3.4 billion packaging units; the market capacity was equal to 3.29 billion units. In the previous 2012 growth rate was also positive - 7.9%.

If we consider the dynamics of PET containers export  from Ukraine in recent years, it is possible to focus on the results of 2010. In this period there was a maximum rate of  exported to the neighboring countries product - 494.6 million units. In monetary terms, the figure was 288.1 million UAH.

In subsequent years, there were a decline in export in real terms. In 2011 the growth rate was negative and amounted to 24.1%. In 2012, Ukraine exported from 21.8% less of PET containers, compared with 2011. In contrast to completely unstable situation regarding export transactions, there were less significant fluctuations in import. However, in 2010 there were decline in imports of container from a thermoplastic - by 12.1%. Later, until 2012, due to increased production in the domestic market, import volumes have not reached 2009 number.
